Religious Education for Children

First Parish Unitarian Universalist-Canton seeks to create an environment that is safe, welcoming, and loving for everyone who participates in our Religious Education program. By exploring together, we work to nourish a love of learning, a sense of curiosity, and the foundations for critical thinking among our children and youth.

Our Religious Education program for children at First Parish UU-Canton affirms and promotes the central theme of Unitarian Universalism, the seven principles. The children’s version of these principles is displayed in a colorful format.

Seven principles: children's version

  1. Each person is important.
  2. Be kind in all you do.
  3. We are free to learn together…
  4. …and search for what is true.
  5. All people need a voice.
  6. Build a fair and peaceful world.
  7. We care for Earth’s lifeboat.

These principles are explored through story, art, service, worship, and UU curriculum.
