General Assembly 2021

The Unitarian Universalist General Assembly (GA) was held virtually from Wednesday, June 23, to Sunday, June 27. The theme was Circle ‘Round for Justice • Healing • Courage. General Assembly is a time to circle ‘round in community. We circle ‘round in care and healing; for liberation and justice; and for love and courage.

  • Synergy Bridging Worship* – Friday, June 25, 7:00 – 8:15 PM (EDT)
This is a transformative multigenerational worship. Be inspired and illuminated at a celebration of treasured worship elements, rites of passage and brilliant contemporary music.
  • Ware Lecture – Saturday, June 26, 7:00 – 8:00 PM (EDT) (GA registration is required.)
The UUA President, in consultation with the General Assembly Planning Committee, invites a distinguished guest each year to address the General Assembly as the Ware Lecturer. This year, there are two Ware lecturers: Stacey Abrams and Desmond Meade.
Stacey Abrams is a New York Times bestselling author, an entrepreneur and a political leader. She launched Fair Fight Action after the 2018 gubernatorial election to ensure every American has a voice in our election system, Fair Count to ensure accuracy in the 2020 Census and the Southern Economic Advancement Project, a public policy initiative to broaden economic power and build equity in the South.
Desmond Meade is a formerly homeless returning citizen who overcame many obstacles to eventually become the President of the Florida Rights Restoration Coalition (FRRC), Chair of Floridians for a Fair Democracy, a graduate of Florida International University College of Law, and a Ford Global Fellow.
